KATHMANDU JAN 29, 2017- CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has accused the incumbent government of delaying the elections to prolong its tenure. He warned that it would be unfortunate if the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government pushed back the elections on any pretext. Talking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport on Saturday, the UML chief said his party would not keep quiet if the ruling coalition conspired to delay the polls. This would also be unacceptable to the people.Oli, a former prime minister, said the government would topple if it did not conduct the three tiers of elections within the one-year constitutional deadline.Responding to queries whether the UML would try to form its own government in such a scenario, Oli said his party prioritised elections for averting a constitutional crisis to leading the government. He remarked that the constitution amendment bill tabled in Parliament was unnecessary, inappropriate and harmful for the country. “The amendment bill won’t be endorsed at any cost,” he claimed. - See more at: http://www.lightnepalvdo.com/videos/govt-delaying-polls-to-prolong-its-tenure-oli/#sthash.IdcvVYs2.dpuf
